Conrad is a highly accomplished yachtsman with over two decades of experience leading teams through some of the world’s most hostile environments. Conrad has raced around the world three times, including victory in the BT Global Challenge and becoming only the fifth British sailor to complete the legendary Vendée Globe.
More recently, he was selected as the professional skipper for Channel 4’s Mutiny, recreating the story of Lieutenant William Bligh’s epic 4,000-mile open boat journey across the South Pacific

Spent surviving in an open boat
In 2016, Conrad was recruited by Channel 4 to skipper Bounty's Launch, a tiny 7m open boat across the South Pacific to replicate the extraordinary feat of Lieutenant William Bligh in the Mutiny on the Bounty, 1789. Mutiny (C4) aired in 2017
Conrad studied Ocean Science and Meteorology at Plymouth University before being chosend to lead a crew around the world in the BT Global Challenge. Throughout his adventurers, Conrad has consistently emphasised the vital role of the ocean in regulating and sustaining life on Earth.
In 2007, he founded the Blue Project, a Sport Environment initiative to inspire and connect people with the ocean. By sharing positive stories and collaborating with athletes worldwide who share a passion for the ocean, the Blue Project promotes awareness and action to protect our planet’s blue environment.
Conrad is an accomplished writer, podcaster, and presenter. He has authored numerous features on leadership, sharing insights drawn from his extraordinary experiences. A sought-after podcast guest, Conrad has also produced several documentaries, including Against the Odds, the official story of his 2004-05 Vendée Globe. His latest series, Britain’s Historic Isles, is now streaming on History Hit and YouTube, showcasing his talent for bringing travel history and adventure to life.
